Interview Reflection

The interview was part of our study case project that we are doing for our course Sport, Leisure and Society. We had to interview a professional sport man or a person with rich experience in those fields. We didn’t have to go far to find this person; he was there in front of us, we just needed to open our eyes a little bit more. He is a very inspiring person with rich knowledge in almost everything, he was our instructor for the course; he was Hedley Butterfield.

We started the interview by introducing the interviewers and the interviewee, but that wasn’t necessary because we already know each other, but we wanted the interview to look professional. We  had 20 questions for the interviewee and each of the interviewers (us) asked 5 questions. Mr. Hedley answered all the questions confidently and clearly. Some of his answers were a little bit long, but they were fine because we found them very informative. Especially when he mentioned the fox which likes to kill other creatures just for the sake of killing even if it doesn’t want to eat any of them.

Overall the interview went as we planned. I think if we had a bigger room with a bigger table it would have been better, so we could place more refreshments on the table and it wouldn’t be very crowded.

Dame Mary Peters

Dame Mary is a former British athlete. Her full name is Dame Mary Elizabeth Peters. She was born in 1939 in Halewood but she moved to Ballymena at eleven and she lives now in Lisburn. Dame Mary won one gold medal in 1972 Summer Olympics, two gold medals and one silver medal in Commonwealth Games between 1958 and 1974. She was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2000, appointed MBE in 1972 and CBE in 1990. She became a Trustee of The Outward Bound trust in May 2001, Vice President of the Northern Ireland Outward Bound Association, and Patron Springhill Hospice in Rochdale. Ireland’s premier athletics track was named after her. Jessica Ennis holds the gold medal for 2012 summer’s Olympics games. I’m not a fan of the Olympics games, but I like swimming so I will say that swimming is my favorite Olympics game.
